Sorry for Being Me

My latest release “Sorry for Being Me” is a fictional narrative piece exploring the mindset of someone consumed by themselves. They are tuned in enough to notice that the world expects more of them. Yet, at the same time, self-obsessed enough to feel like they’re the ones being shortchanged in the game of life. I think we’ve all witnessed this pattern where someone clearly doesn’t accept the consequences and decisions that have had them arrive at their position in life.

However, I also intended the track to be something that everyone can think about in their own lives and how they choose to manage their affairs. Most of us are doing way better than the anti-hero in “Sorry for Being Me” but accepting our own faults and learning to grow is a lifelong endeavour.

Some Press Quotes from the Release

These were some of the feedback comments that sat best with me from the reviews of the track. I thank everyone that takes the time to listen and form an opinion about my music.

“Sits in that compelling grey zone between folk confession and hip-hop storytelling, where genre lines blur in favor of honesty.” – SneakersItalia

“A beautiful and dreamy voice… energetic and emotional… very touching. The lyrics are very beautiful and carefully chosen. The mixing and mastering are very well arranged.” – Rap|R&B Zone

B-Side – “Pay to Play” Original Demo Remix

Pay to Play is the “B Side” on this one. After releasing it as a single last year, I went back to the original demo version and did a remix to complement Sorry for Being Me on the release. I kind of dig the simplicity of the original version of the track and thought it was a nice B-side for this drop.
